Sadly after trying to the search tiananmen Square on google in Beijing everythinhg became blocked so this is a late summery-
We took our first bus trip
!Fun fact: people in China don't actually speak English... which makes it kind of hard to find were you are staying
After finally finding our hostel we started wondering around beijing and almost straight away we found the most important building in Beijing...
we also discovered we knew very little about China which meant having to name random buildings as important...
We finally navigated our way around the impossible fence system of Beijing and found Tianenmen Square. Very touristy and commercial but on the plus side there were mini robot soldiers on the ground.
Everyone was very excited about us because apparently we are celebrities in China. They mostly liked Lees hair as was shown by their pointing, staring and attempts at subtle picture taking.
Also, Beijing is really hot. So to survive, we needed lots of bottled waters and weird but tasty ice blocks.
Next, with our new friend Justin we went to the Wangfujing Night Markets. Tasted some street food including, toffeed fruit, fried scorpion, noodles, weird pancake things, fried banana and fried icecream. Suprisingly all quite tasty.
An attempt at haggling gone wrong with an old solely mandarin speaking decorative fan seller screaming 'FUCK YOU' after a long battle with Justin.
An then we went on our long walk home...
Thanks for the pics and update.
